Actually, Banti's right. Heavens refers to the sky, like where the stars are. Heaven's means Heaven owns something; thus, if you say, "Good Heaven's lady!" (that's what you said, right?), then you are saying that Heaven owns her.![]()
Nah, I'll let you slide this time
Noooooo! You can't say "more better"! It's just "better."![]()
Not you again!!![]()
You told Bubbles she was right, after all. I just hope she don't see it![]()
![]()
DOESN'T!
She will![]()
@BantyChooks
And why do you 'spose I made it bold!!!
You need this.
If you're going to say suppose in a shortened form, you should say s'pose, not 'spose. And because that is an interrogative sentence, you need to put a question mark after it.
Banti, help!
Hey! It got your attention, didn't it? That's exactly why I did it the way I did.
Yes, it did![]()
Incorrect grammar always catches my attention.

Glad to hear of more hatches. I tagged the wrong person this morning.Just wanted to thank everyone for watching the feed yesterday, 6 of 9 so far are in the brooder, the top corner is still having trouble getting out. No pips in the other two. I'm happy none the less, drastic improvement from my last hatch.
It's even worse in the back seat
I like separate quarters. I have 3 small breeder units I put them in if they're vacant.Based on my most recent broody experience I would mark the ones she has for sure. I attempted to allow her to hatch where she was originally nesting and out of 8 eggs that she originally had only 1 managed to hatch. Others were adding, they were getting cracked, I suspect at least in part from her trying to keep the other hens out. Once the chick hatched and came off the nest for the first time my rooster wasn't sure what to think about it and killed it. It will probably be some time before I allow a broody, in the past I always broke them, but when I do I will plan for them to have separate quarters.
I have too many hobbies. You need a hobby.![]()

I can't keep up. Is that a septuple negative?Nobody is never by himself, he's always got Somebody.
I never mentioned Nobody never doing something, I said Nobody never did nothing.
You didn't trust yourself.I found the box of checks after tearing apart my entire bedroom. Now my bedroom is a mess, I hurt my wrist, and I have no idea how the checks were in the second place I looked originally but didn't find them.
They don't always happen that fast. I had one take 2 days to unzip about a week ago. There were others hatching so I didn't try to help. It made it out and is doing fine now.like i said zip should be no more than 90 minutes,
a few more hours could be too long,
if they are shipped eggs it could explain the malpo, also sounds like your incubator may have been running a tad cool
Good Luck!!![]()
I guess those stories - as cute as they are - are why people grow up not getting the threat that predators can be, till it's too late. I mean nothing by it, just an observation.A rabbit that wants to be a cop someday, and does it. She moves to Zootopia where predators don't eat prey (no fowl to speak of in the movie). She meets a sly fox, and ends up having to work with him to solve a case. It turns out he is just a misunderstood fox that was traumatized as a child. He is so just so darn sweet and he sticks up for her, saves her life... He is her hero.![]()

I don't think that school ever dismisses class.Ah.

We've all been there!
Yep. I've been a pupil in the School of Hard Knocks more than once!![]()
I don't trust any cheap hygrometer. In fact, I don't currently use one. I use a gram scale to weigh eggs periodically. I can't see air cells most of the time anyway.Still air, and I believe the air cells are too small. Should I try to candle and take a picture, even though it's not night yet?
Also, what do y'all use for hygrometers? I need something that's fairly accurate (I will calibrate, don't worry) and not too expensive. Any ideas?
It means it should be left under the hen. If it means anything else, you can't do anything about it anyway. You cannot improve on the conditions under a broody hen. If something goes wrong, it means it wasn't meant to hatch or that you handled and interfered too much.what does it mean
Just popping in....so far I have two of three hatched.....Tiny little silkies
They can stay off a long time at the beginning of incubation, especially if it is hot out.Looks like Miss Broody's decided being broody is no fun. Caught her off the nest 45 min. ago; she's still off the nest and her eggs are cool.
No biggie; still have 12 cooking.
Good eye.no P??
heavens as in skyWRONG!!! "Heaven" is singular. Adding the 's makes it possesive. And "Heavens" is plural; there isn't but one Heaven!!!!!

I don't blame you.@ChickenCanoe
No way am I quoting that long post.
Yes, I have a full basement, but the point is moot, at least for now: she quit the nest. Maybe she'll try again; we'll see.
That 3-legged chick didn't come from a double yolker, did it?

They look like they're still alive.Missing the taters and carrots.
