Happy Fathers day to all the men out there who are working diligently to be good fathers whether they are stepfathers, or biological fathers. I could not imagine a life without Dad.

My Dad imprinted me for life, he always said that no matter girl or boy, you can accomplish anything you try, no matter how many times you have to try it. I am grateful he was so tough on me, I am proud to have been his "little boy"

Did you know that ducks *can* have medicated starter as long as the medication is amprolium or bacitracin? Heck, Purina actually makes a medicated "Flock Raiser", though I haven't seen it in any stores. What ducklings do need is more niacin than than what's in the chick starter, so that's one reason one might want to feed flock raiser.

go ahead and post photos and anything else you have, information and whatever in a nice big post and I'm sure everyone who's around would like to see what we can learn about your chicks to help you. If you can post a picture of their poop, their brooder & the chicks together so we can see their behaviour like how they're standing. Can you tell us where they stand in the brooder? Is it under the light or as far away as possible or are they walking around and seeming comfortable? Are their eyes and noses clean and clear looking, nothing stuck on? Is anything stuck to their bottoms? Go back through to where you said goodnight last night and read through all the posts relivant to you about brooders, you can skip the rest but I think there might have been a few. If there is anything else new or old that you want to ask or tell us include that in your post. I bet we can help :-D

Oh my, what happened? How many were you able to save?

Too many cooks in the kitchen. Four chicks were dead. One has hatched in the incubator 20 or so eggs in the incubator. Going out to make a brooder for lone chick. Hoping for more not sure when they will hatch as they were laid at different times after the first batch was put in.

I just happened to come out to sit on the front sun porch. I can't say that I normally sit here! There is a sign on the door that says, "please use back door". That in itself kind of says that this room is not often used. I noticed something orange on one of the windows. Yada yada. Pay taxes. We are going to sell your house. Blah blah! It scared the poop out of me until I actually read it. It's under $900, and I have over a year to pay.
I don't know why (yes, I do. I just won't go into it) taxes haven't been paid, but I think I can get it taken care of pretty quick! Oh, the fear I felt! LOL!
