A cursory look at the dead hen has be thinking egg binding. Her vent area was swollen like a softball. It's so hot here it is hard to tell. I quadruple bagged her and she's in the freezer to kill the maggots. I want to open her up in the morning when it's a tad cooler to try some detective work. I'll have to be done by 7. That's when the trash comes. She's too big for the compost I have now.
She's an olive egger so I'm not sending off for a necropsy since I don't use them for breeding.

Tough love, I know.

When I was up there we tried swimming in the ocean it was freezing in August! We then found an inland lake to swim in lol

I was told by the shipper she uses premie diapers to ship all her eggs.each egg was wrapped in one, in the center of the box packed full of paper and foam. Not one crack or scrambled egg in the 21 I received.

We cant receive or send eggs abroad but I think that a good idea is using one of this

This polystyrene pool nuddl , the egg can enter nicely in the middle, and you can cut it in any size needed.
