If you want to watch a LONG video...there is this guy that is teaching people how best to grow it.Alright. Weeeeell I guess if it's called duckweed they probably eat it ...
Thanks! I'll watch it when I have a half hour to spare! I'm very curious to see how he's going to spend a half hour talking about duckweed! I would try it in my goldfish's aquarium to see if he likes it, but in case he doesn't ...... umm .... I don't want my tank to look like yours! Is it good for the water, do you know?If you want to watch a LONG video...there is this guy that is teaching people how best to grow it.
He says fish love it. My fish don't. But even my tiny babies love it.
If there is oxygen in the water, yes, but if not - if it's standing water, than it can get stinky. I have a filter that keeps the water moving, but last time it got too thick I had some fish die. The ones that lived, stayed right where the filter sent water back into the tank. Thanks! I'll watch it when I have a half hour to spare! Ahh ok. Is it really hard to get rid of?If there is oxygen in the water, yes, but if not - if it's standing water, than it can get stinky. I'll be scooping every couple of days until I get all of it.
I might keep a bucket outside and add water every time I clean my tank. I think it needs more than clean water.....
Then neeeeevermind about putting it in the aquarium!Yes!
x 3000Yes!
Hire an electrician. You don't know enough about electricity to hook up an electric fence.hey yall i got an update the leads on the box will not shock me so now what
Doesn't matter. Whatever works for you.Today is day 18 for my eggs. Should I A) candle them one more time tonight and go ahead and put 'em in lockdown mode or B) candle them and lock them down in the morning?
Note: I started them at 5:30 in the morning on day 1, and I would candle them around 9:30 p.m. tonight.
X2Candling can be done at anytime. Ditto with lock down. As long as there are no internal pips, you can lock down tonight or tomorrow.
Why go through all that trouble? You aren't feeding children. If you want to give them peanut butter, give them peanut butter. Honey, baking powder and salt probably wouldn't be the best idea.Alright, so I found out peanut butter is high in niacin. So ...... I was wondering if it would be a good idea to make little "cookies" for the ducks with peanut butter, grower feed, honey, and a few other things that you put in cookies (flour, baking powder, salt, etc.) Is peanut butter actually high in niacin? Should I forget this idea and just get purina flock raiser?
I'm not a fan of water candling. If the eggs don't stink or leak, they stay in till 2+ days after due date. Thanks again! Now...yet another question. (Yes, I realize it's getting old. Hahaha...)
If I can't tell for sure if an egg is good to go, is water candling okay? I don't know how controversial this is, but the YouTube videos make it seem pretty fun to watch...as long as I keep the water at the right temp.
Brewer's yeast is the way to go.lol, i would go with the brewers yeast
usually done after day 21 to check viability, otherwise just sniff test
It looks good. Did you read the ingredient list and guaranteed analysis? It says it is for ducks.@ChickenCanoe
How do you feel about this blue seal feed I think my ducks are on this

It may have protein but as a vegetative source, it will be incomplete in essential amino acids. This is duckweed. I know my chickens LOVE it and it's loaded with protein, but i didn't want it, didn't plan on it. I had it in my fish tank about 6 months ago and thought I had eradicated it. I was wrong. Friday, my tank looked like this...
This morning it looked like this...
I had thought about growing it in outside buckets, but the trouble I"m going to have getting rid of it in my tank is not worth having it anywhere near my house...
You can almost WATCH it duplicate.
The slimy algae in some of our trout streams are a pain. Now you know what I go through every year, trying to fish through that crap
Hence the name, duckweed.Do ducks like it?
So true.Talk to Benny; he probably has a salad built around it![]()
If the fish are herbivorous, they'll likely eat it. If they're carnivorous, like cichlids, they won't. If they're omnivorous, they may. If they're micro-predators, likely not....

I'm thinking a product like Api's Algaefix may help.If there is oxygen in the water, yes, but if not - if it's standing water, than it can get stinky. I have a filter that keeps the water moving, but last time it got too thick I had some fish die. The ones that lived, stayed right where the filter sent water back into the tank.
