Can the ridge board be the same dimension as the trusses?

I'd go with 2/8 as the angle of the cut in the 2x6 makes it longer. I think 2/8 will cover the cut as your angle won't be too steep

Great idea; better than cubes!. My bowls aren't large enough to have room left for any water, but TSC can solve that problem quick.

Yeah, the small pint water bottles. I pull them out of the recycle bin, fill with tap water and freeze them. I also use those small plastic tubs that cut lettuce comes in. Fill with water, freeze and put those in foot baths.
Either last longer than cubes.
I use these feed tubs for foot baths.

If they're really clean, like if the bird went through an auto plucker, that's usually good enough. If they scald they peel easily.
If it hasn't been muddy and the birds are on clean bedding, the feet are usually pretty clean.

I freeze water bottles and float them in foot baths which are big black rubber feed bowls.
These penedesencas haven't taken advantage of them like the American and English class birds have.

Nope don't wash or peel. Pressure cook till mush blend into dry feed and feed back.
