Not raining yet. POURED BUCKETS yesterday. We had a few inches of water on the road. Water is down in places and up in places. DH wants to go to Crowley to help but the water isn't down yet.
Not yet! Gotta gather a whole clutch first!

Hopefully it continues to go down in all places.

Well, it' sback to the drawing board for us. - my 12 year old and 2 year old decided they wanted to "see" the incubator and dropped it, breaking all the eggs while I was out with the baby chickens in their new pen.... (they still are in the house, but I took them out there for a few minutes to explore.)

However, I was able to get the humidity to 26% over night, and keep the temp stable at 99.6.... with out the eggs in it. So... maybe this will work out better. It was not fun cleaning egg yolk off my bathroom floor. :/

cant wait to see the results, should be an interesting cross

The cochin laid her egg in the goat coop yesterday, so I'm going to put her back over there to make sure I'm getting her eggs. There was also a giant blue egg in there, not sure from who. If it was the black pullet I might keep her, if that's her new egg size.

Sorry to hear about the bator.

The Kinder goat gets too big, and eats too much. The Nigerian Dwarf seems the best fit. Now, who wants to teach me to make cheese? Then explain why cheesecloth is sold in two departments. Automotive and crafts. And while baking is also a craft, it is in with paint. Not the chocolate disks and cake stuff.
If you want to talk goats milk recipes, we've used ours for soap, cheese, and even making icecream. ;)

Our pgymies don't eat much and are tiny, but I suspect we will only be getting about 1/4th of a gallon per day from them. We have a spanish goat, that's supposed to be a better producer. She's 2-3x their size though.

I'm a fan of nubian's, but they don't sell well here, since most people want meat goats, and I just wanted milking goats!

As to the baking and cheese cloth, I have no idea!

haha! I called it though - I KNEW that incubator wasn't going to be safe from them, no matter where I put it. ;(

Oh well, 2-3 more days and we can try again.
