Yes! A friend of A friend didn't have room anymore for it and is giving us everything for it. Tank, heat rock, heat lamp hiding log, and extra bulbs!
I'm guilty. One huge tackle box that goes if I'm going to be on different types of water or a lake. You & your hard water!
I seldom throw live bait, myself. When I do, it's minnows. Takes 3-4 decent-sized tackle boxes/bags to carry all my "essential, no-need-even-going-without-it" gear, then I only use 2-3 all day. Can't use it if ya ain't got it.
Nice 'Eye. What'd she hit?
That's a new one on me.Basically my guess at what went down is this: just before our vacation the dandilions were letting their seeds go out into the wild blue yonder. One probably got sucked in while she was breathing and lodged in there, then just festered. It's happened with foxtails, I'm not surprised if it happened with her and a dandilion fluff.
Its not fun getting it out.
A pipped or zipped chick that died could be from breeder nutrition, breeder disease, low humidity, prolonged egg storage, low temp for a prolonged period, high temperature at hatching, poor ventilation or inadequate turning during first 12 days.Something went wrong with my hatch, one zipped so far then died, temp was 100 and humidity was 65, so that was fine, idk. I opened the egg anyway and it didn't have defects and nothing looked wrong. I have 7 more and hopefully they go much better or this may be my one and only time incubating eggs!
I missed out on those times. One grandfather died when I was a young sprout barely out of the ground. The other farmed 120 acres 750 miles away. Only time I was ever around him it was for only for a few days at a time. I did get to stay a couple weeks with him one year; I believe we hit every sale barn in IL, & he knew someone at every one of them! Clinton, Montecello, Farmer City, we hit 'em all.
rattle snake, yes. Rosy boa, no.That's unfortunate. Snake is some good eating.
Didn't take long for me to have a 12x20 pad poured w/7 kennels on it. Made life a lot easier to clean when I could hose it down into the gutter. Had 17 dogs at one point, including 2 litters of small pups.
Boa's taste just as good. More meat to them as well.rattle snake, yes. Rosy boa, no.
In the last million years, chicks hatched without any help.
So it isn't a rare breed that needs to be preserved at all cost.
Thoughts?
My thought is that if a chick is too weak to hatch on its own and needs to be sprung, its offspring may also not be able to hatch on their own.
Just sayin'.
'Mornin, Sleepy
true, but this ones a pet. Maybe a wild one i might try.Boa's taste just as good. More meat to them as well.
