I've been to 44. Haven't hit VT, MA, ME, CT, NH or RI.
When are you heading out to get the birds?
I've been to 46 - missed AK, MS, ND and LA. Some of the ones I have seen, have just been as I've driven through, but most I've stayed at least 1 night.

Adorable!!! Congrats on a successful hatch!

It's been a busy day!! My babies that are housed at a friend's house have doubled in size in the past week and I"m seeing a LOT of fighting going on. I have 2 absolute bullies that are pinning the other, bigger birds down. Nobody is drawing blood, just a few feathers flying and SCREAMING chickens as they get attacked. It's just when I'm feeding them treats. But then again, I only spend about 30 minutes with them, twice each day. I'm not sure what they do when I'm not there. As long as I don't see any blood, am I ok leaving the bullies in there, or should I take them out?

As long as they have space, ventilation, food and water, they're probably fine for now.

This number of states visited is a good conversation.
Where did you go in MO?
I should ask about IL but that's across the river so many here don't care.

After we find out how many states everyone has been to, we'll start on countries.

I know lots of people that have never left their home town. Never been ANYWHERE!

How long's that been going on?
Where were you in MD?
I have a house in Spotsyvania, VA, and when my brother lived there, I went to visit. We drove out to his inlaw's house in MD - I want to say it was near Bethesda? But, this was 10 - 12 years ago, I can't quite remember where exactly. I just remember a lot of BEAUTIFUL green hills.

Thanks, they have doubled in size, so it's getting a bit more crowded than I'd like. I'll move a bunch of the bigger ones out this weekend.

I took route 70 through the middle of the state, the summer before last....we left ME, and ended up in CA 3 days later. We only slept in 1 motel, and that was in NE. I do remember that MO had some of the CLEANEST rest stops anywhere. I do have a very good friend in Hallsville that I am determined to visit one of these summers. I'll try to coordinate a trip when she's going to one of the Bluegrass festivals she goes to every year.

IL, I spent a week in Wheaton (I think) - visiting friends. While there I did go to a Cubs game. We took a couple of days and on a motorcycle went up to Oak Creek, MI to visit another friend.

When I was 12 and again when I was 13, my parents took us camping on cross country trips. I remember camping in MO, but can't tell you exactly where. If we could find an amusement park, we got to go, as long as we agreed to several days at the Grand Ole Opry. So, most of our campsites were somewhere near an amusement park, or a national monument. We spent 6 weeks going to CA and then back to MA. We just spent 4 weeks going one direction the next year when we moved to CA.

I kept travel journals. I'll have to see if I can find those....I did find our photo albums - I'll see if I can find any clues from those.

I have friends that have NEVER left CA, but most of my friends in New England, have at least been to a few of the neighboring states.

I've been to 48 with my husband. He is not allowed in Canada, so Alaska wasn't happening. And he has bad opinions of Hawaii, so I was not allowed to go there.
I was in Canada and maybe 36 states before him.

How do you get banned from Canada?

I went to Vancouver - on my way to my brother's house when he lived in Pt. Roberts, WA. While we were there, my friend and I took a day tour to Vancouver Island and ended up spending the night in a cute little b & b. She and I barely made it back in time for my brother's wedding at the Peace Arch - at the border crossing.
