I like that part of the country; had / have kin in both states.
They are supposed to be setters but I had 3 for years that never went broody. One just never knows.Should I trust a Barred Rock that is acting broody?

Modern times I guess.Swartzentruber Amish still live primitively, won't use phones, ride in cars etc.., Then the Old Order Amish, the ones that farm live more primitively than the builders, plumbers, electricians, HVAC guys, furniture builders, etc., then the New Order Amish drive cars, might have electric in house, possibly even internet.

Pretty eggs.
I got a soft-shelled egg yesterday. Not sure if one of the hens had an OOPS or one of my May pullets is starting to lay, although it was a full-sized egg.
