Morning

This is what she currently looks like, and every stick of it has come from Lowes. You can see the 1st truss in place, with 4 more leaning against the front wall. There's another, partially finished, on the deck, for a total of 6 of the 9 required. The material leaning against the left rear corner represents all the screw-ups I've made along the way, but I've been able to use a good bit of it as bracing in the trusses, where I'd normally be using 2x4's. You see the terrain I'm having to deal with; gangs & gangs of fun!

Another angle I shot last night. I may live long enough to get it finished; the jury's still out!
Looking good.

This short post is better to quote than the novel above...I actually do prefer Home Depot; their prices are pretty much identical, and the associates are at least as knowledgeable as those at Lowes, but Lowes is on the other side of town and traffic is heavier, with more lights, while Lowes, comparatively, is just around the corner. Given as many trips as I make to either of the two, Lowes just makes more sense.
Good morning Whites! That makes a lot of sense, I'd go to the one easiest to get to, also.

Looks good, glad you found uses for the screw ups, I'm certain you'll get it done!

Quote: I wish we had a Menards here. I've been to the one in Racine, WI a ton of times; I know my way around it almost as well as the natives. I could easily spend the rest of my days in that place.
Lowes here used to have the same discount, but stopped it. My BIL gets the same deal at Home Depot, but I hate depending on him to be available when I need something in a hurrry, although there's a brand new Porter Cable framing nailer 6' from me right now that he picked up for me at Home Depot; haven't even used it yet...didn't have it yet when the studs were going up and haven't needed it yet. Would come in handy on the gussets, but I'm screwing them on.

Quote: Great, I hope it works out!

Quote: I like Menards, just isn't one very close too me. I actually go to local lumber yards, Keim Lumber or Holmes Lumber, which are both closer than any of the big box stores.
There's a Mennonite lumber yard about an hour from here, but again the time and distance are factors, although their prices are cheaper.

Looking good Whites. Careful on those ladders.
