I've been looking at DIY bat boxes and Martin houses. I'm also going to cut some brush close to the house today. A friend in New Orleans area had good luck with the electric dyna trap. I have it set up, but no luck yet. It's supposed to break the life cycle within 4-6 weeks.


The parish comes and sprays if the weather conditions are right, but that's also only a temporary fix.

Tell the parish to hurry up so you don't perish.

It's a good thing you don't live around a city. The raccoons would already have them around here.

I'm not pushing you to hand raise it. Maybe I misunderstood. I thought you had the egg in an incubator or under a chicken.

I have never seen a raccoon. I have seen a couple of possums. I have 3 large dogs that stay outside at night and I think they do a good job with predator control. They killed two foxes several years ago, but haven't noticed anything of late (knock on wood). Also, my entire property is enclosed and includes a foot of barbed wire at the top of the fence (I know things can still get in, but I think it helps with stray/wild animals).

Thanks! Been a while since I pulled out the ol' clown costume, but I used to work children's events for our church all the time.

She took the eggs.

It happens fast.
Or a ladder.
I had a few birds that all of a sudden decided to sleep on the roof of another pen. I had to use a ladder and net each night to retrieve them. I had moved the ladder and one night after locking up, I went to get the ladder. I got sidetracked and 20 minutes later I went to get the birds. I found one of the pullets hiding in the grass, one was dead, 2 were gone (never to return).

I had a rooster in a cage in the driveway right next to my porch at dusk. I was going to carry him inside when it got fully dark. I went out to get him and a raccoon had already pulled him through the cage.

Sad! All of mine were fine again this morning. I have got to stop this habit though. They are also free-ranging all day now as opposed to when I am home, since they are already out in the mornings when I go to feed/water. They sure are happy though!

I know! We're hoping to have hives in the future, which is why I need solutions!!!! We have like 700+ kids in the summer so we can't just ignore it. The dragonflies help.

steel roofing, you get prices yet? noticed my wood shed is leaking! its rusting through bad just lovely thanks, critters are fine as they can be, buck and wether keep getting out need to do some work I guess no I threw them out for peeing on my couch and the next day one was gone so the white one came back in, thank GOD he isnt the couch p er or the ooops missed the litter box crapper!!

All of these can be used in poultry, but many are not FDA approved, and some are banned in poultry that can be used as food animals.
