Well in that case sell all the others. She'll survive.

I find that single goats do okay if they have someone around for company. A horse, chickens, a dog... something they can "visit" with.

Do you have any other animals around to entertain her?

She shares a barn with the chickens, and we have dogs and kids that go visit back and forth.

Wow, why so expensive? Mine was $45 to make.
i dunno

Me either. I've been in the dark most of my life
lol

I need to go back to work!! too much time on chicken and duck websites with cute baby animal pics and a game offering call ducks eggs tonight..... If I get more eggs and another incubator my husband may leave the country without me....PERMANENTLY!!!! I'm up to over 100 chickens and 17 ducks plus whatever is in the incubator. MUST...... RESIST.......TEMPTATION.......

Oh and as far as my good hair day.... chickens can hear a bag of mealworms farther and louder than a dog can hear a cheese wrapper from 3 rooms away!!! walked into the run and was swarmed. I think one even tried to nest in my mop!!!!!

i saw you played last night, thinking of getting some ducks??

Sorry about your blue egg layer. I love blue eggs. Too bad you are so far away. I have seven new layers I am selling.
Thanks, i like fun colored eggs too

you know I dont know right now, since so many are gone, serama are starting to lay again thank goodness, so maybe almost a doz of large fowl and then the serama and ducks
lol,

All those ponies drive? I've always thought a pony cart would be fun to drive, and useful to boot.
or a goat cart lol

I am new to all of this and have to say THANK YOU! I know that it takes a lot of time to put all of the info you have in one place here but you have helped this simple southern boy out a lot!! Lol I will read up and I'm sure I will have questions.. hopefully not ones that have been answered 10 times here lol. Thanks again for putting this together!
Welcome! I see you already got lots of help

Thanks! I am pretty excited. I plan to start with Texas A&M and Georgia giant quail and then add red pheasants when I get a grip on things. I do a lot of hunting and training and love knowing where my food comes from.. it's nice to be able to give the animals a good life until it's time for what you originally planned to use them for. Hope this doesn't offend people...
I dont think you'll offend anyone here, and i think you'll fit right in LOL

You are going to be a handful!
ROFL!!!

I forget who asked but here is how I candle and get pics.

Modified LED head lamp (225ish lumens)

How I hold to candle. Air cell of the egg is kept at the top.

Candleing of the egg in the previous picture, day 9 (I think).
i think it was Kajira??

I didn't pay any attention to who was driving it or what kind of chicken it was.... I just saw a chicken pulling a cart with some funny music and after a couple glasses of wine and a tough day was highly amused

But then again I am blonde and polish and like wine so it doesn't take much to amuse me

i hope it's ok that i post this, looking for as quick of an answer as possible so i can open the incubator up just once. this is my first time hatching, is this too crowded, are the eggs spaced out ok or should they be closer together? i've read too many things and my brain is in derp mode now!! i have a better thermometer on top of the eggs in the middle. Temp is at 100 and has stayed at 100 for 2 days now, judging by my crummy humidity gauge it's a little under 40. in case it matters this is a still air hova-bator, 160n i believe
Welcome!!

Make sure you calibrate

UGHHHH someone STOP meeee.....

Luke just brought in four more duck eggs!!!!! ughhhh

Took you long enough to get here.

How long do y'all think a goat can live solo? I've got someone interested in a wether as a pet, and they're hard to sell that way so I was thinking of pushing both to her. Babies are sold, so mama would be alone til I could get a friend. A week? Two?
Mine survive quarantine in a small pen for a month, but they need attention. But they can get noisy like others have said especially Nubians.
