It makes you wonder how we didn't die off as a race, hundreds of years ago![]()
It has happened before and it will happen again.
Over the centuries, there have been lots of human die offs ranging up to 90% in some areas. There were 2 viral epidemics in Mexico 25 years apart that killed 80% of the population the first time and 50% the second time.
various plagues, flu epidemics, yellow fever, cholera, dengue fever
The flu killed millions worldwide in the '50s and '60s and 75 million in 1920.
AIDS has killed 30 million in the Congo Basin alone.
Stronger immune systems. The weak didn't live to propagate. We were created perfectly, and IMHO, are downgrading with time.
I believe there is an issue with being "too clean" in our country.... Strong immune systems and microbiomes are not built by hand sanitizer!
There's a concern with overuse of antibiotics and the creation of superbugs. We are just one pandemic away.
Some germs are already in the US and resistant to all known antibiotics, even the one of last resort - carbapenem.
This is a very good read on the next global pandemic.

LOL, more goatsAlso, i'm 99% sure our spanish goat isn't pregnant, so the lady who cashed the check (and helped talk to her bank today, too, to fix it) said she'd bring me over a goat she *knew* was pregnant. I want to keep blueberry, we got attached to her. lol I'll just give her a little money for blueberry later, when I get some extra money again. lol
lol! Goats are awesomeLOL, more goats
Sorry to hear about the runny noseNo kidding I have been going to school for about a week and my nose already won't stop running and we are only at school for three hours.
I... What if we were poor and it was our main account? We'd be minus money, and unable to pay bills, buy groceries....
It doesn't make sense that it can take 3-5 business days to sort out something that's an automated process... especially when the person can see how it got screwed up and has access to the account and could fix it.
...
That would be bad. It sucks being poor.
That 3-5 day delay is another way banks make big money. It's called float. They earn interest of all of those delays.
That and automatically putting bous random charges on accounts. If someone complains, they return the money, the rest they keep.

We keeep alcohol based hand sanitizer around, and I make the kids use it after going in the chicken coop. I make them bathe and change their clothes quickly after spending time holding/cuddling with chickens. As far as I know, no one's ever licked a chicken.
Makes you wonder who "paid" for the study for backyard eggs... that can skew the findings too.
No kissing either.

CDC is a government agency so no one entity pays for that. It was just a report of statistics on numbers of salmonella cases. They just state statistics.
That's what the CDC does. They investigate reports of illness and make recommendations based on their findings. Same with Zika, Ebola and others.

When I interviewed for a job at IBM they went through all the benefits, but there was no mention of sick leave, so I brought it up..."We don't have sick leave. If you're sick, stay home, full pay" Don't know if that's still the case; left there in '87
