Here's something I just saw.... It was an ad for roosters. The ad was well done and accurate, but the comment...!

Free- Roosters

"R these laying hens or meet hens"

Need some help, friends... I seem to have worms in my flock. I've spent most of my Sunday following around poopers to see who has the overload- So far, just one OE 9 week old and two hens... I'm afraid it looks like tapeworm segments but want your expert opinions... What do I do now? I assume I need to worm the flock of 30... Is there an easier way than another to worm that many without having to catch each one?
Mix a wormer in with their feed.

Rifles and shotguns are rather unwieldy when you're walking alone in town.

True.....
Ya got that right! If I lived in MO I wouldn't leave home unless I was carrying.

Also true.

I agree with that too. Especially the countryside part.
Maybe I was blessed being raised both in the country and the city.

The thing I don't agree with in the overall debate is that a good guy with a gun is the only way to defend against a bad guy with a gun.
A good guy with a gun has been present at some of the mass shootings. He was ducking for cover with everyone else instead of standing up and exchanging fire like at the OK Corral. When someone is shooting, you take cover, if you're wise. I've been there.

I'm a good guy canoe.... If someone is shooting at you.... I don't duck..... I'll not hesitate.....Nuff said.... :)
That would be great. I just got an unrelated pair. 2 half related pullets and 2 roosters I had sold 3 years ago.
I'm pretty happy with that and I'm treating them like they're made of gold. (goose that laid the golden egg)
Getting some genes from abroad is a goal.
I've tried finding some in Canada and Central America to no avail.
I think Spain is my best bet.

Which variety does your breeder friend have? Crele, Wheaten, Partridge or Black?
Black is the only variety I raise (because they're dual purpose)

I don't carry. Probably because I'm just not scared. I have good neighbors but I also know how to duck and cover. Also, it would just be another hassle. Like remembering to bring my eyeglasses. cell phone and to wear pants. :old

NO PLEASE PUT PANTS ON!!!!!! :lau

I never bothered to get a concealed carry permit. Good thing I didn't waste my time because now I don't need one.

Growing up on a farm using shotguns, rifles and handguns, graduating from a military institute high school and my time in the Army, I have used virtually every type of weapon from derringers to LAW (light anti-tank weapons) so likely wouldn't need firearm safety training. I may even still be able to disassemble and reassemble an M-1, M-14 and an M-16 blindfolded. In high school, we were timed on that skill.

try cell phone flashlight ap
Using a 2000 lumen LED flashlight... Got the highest lumens I could find... Pretty sure it's higher than the phone, but I'll check with that too, can't hurt. I had messages the seller too, to see if they just wait and pray lol
Here is his face before cleaning. Poor guy is a trooper.
Very good Guy there... Hope he got some scrambled eggs or other goodies for a job well done(or attempted lol)

Also- what have I been doing wrong?!? I am meticulous about keeping the coop and run clean. They have about 800 square feet.

Where's the poop reader Kathy when you need her?
If you can take one of those fecals to a vet and have them read, that would be your best bet and you'll know which specific anthelmintic to use.

Some may view it as an ugly sight/

I may shoot back but it will be from behind a barrier which is what I was taught in the Army. One needs to be alive to be able to fight back.

Mira returned to the coop Friday evening. She's quite a bit smaller than all of her sisters/brother now but she's doing well and eating good. She has to find her new place in the pecking order now which is looking like the very bottom at the moment but she's not getting beaten up, just pecked here and there. She's still very people friendly though. She's learned her name during her time in the house and will come when called and hop up in my lap :)

She looks good, Jess, considering what she looked like a couple weeks ago. I wouldn't have given a plug nickel for her chances of survival then. You did a great job with her
