That one is 27 bucks for a 3 pack. I'd probably need about 12 or so. Put one on each side of the fence/shed so any movement will set them off?

I'm saying it because I will feel bad if I don't. I've NEVER had a predator kill anything. Five of my best birds in one night massacred.

I do understand, but I didn't have the materials, to do anything fancier today and I had to get them out of my daughters room. I was tired of cleaning the dog crate 3-4x a day.

However, next week I can look at other things to help deter predators. If they want to come, I've found (especially racoons) nothing stops them, unless it's brick and cement.

They are absolutely evil, when I grew up in WA, we had a huge racoon problem and they weren't scared of anything.

If you build it, they will come. My first alarm was seeing the gap between the roof and the chain link. Raccoons can do that much easier than cats.
Good thing you live in a rural area where they are less densely populated. Weasels are a problem too.

Supposedly, these are okay, based on reviews. They have a lot of them. I'll keep browsing. We just have so much acreage it's hard to know where you'd even want to put them to deter animals away.

Yeah, if/when we find a place to put a new chicken area, we'll be going all out for a metal roof, but this one is a movable dog kennel, and for now, suits our purpose for temporary housing for a couple of weeks.

A lot of stuff we also want, has to be ordered online and shipped. even our local TSC doesn't have as much as we'd like for setting stuff like this up.. It's irritating to wait to get stuff. They are always out of a lot of the stuff we want to get for our horses and chickens, too. lol (Food wise.)

We had to put the roof we did on it, because when we went to get supplies, this was all they had.

Me and at least 2/4 of my children are. I haven't bothered testing the younger two, since my older have celiacs and its on both sides of the family.

I think we are all just making sure that you are aware. I know that I understand that a temporary coop is not perfect for protection, but awesome for getting the birds out of the house!
I was just looking at a prefab coop I have today. It is no good for predator protection, but really works for quarentine or (what I was thinking today) separating a pair for mating. It's also been used for broodies and a grow out pen.
