They do poultry swaps at some of the feed stores around here. Does that not happen there?I would, if I knew of one.
Could check CL to see if any are advertised.I would, if I knew of one.
At least since I have standing water at the surface it is softened up, but it is going to be hard and very messy.
Quote: They eat so much, I also think the broody might have chick/chicks now. That could have been a factor too.

Great! We have ordered a new Incubator.
heheheh can't wit to join with my BL polish and Buff x White silkies !
Hey everyone!: only a few days left until my first hatch! Things are looking good so far.
Sweet!!! good luck!!!! if you didnt read the comments, auto turners will fit in it too! If you can afford them, get them!My poor dogs are mad and ready to go hunt.. I am taking them out tomorrow and starting my cooler cabinet like Sally built. Looks really cool!
So, yesterday was day 7 of my incubation of 7 eggs (aruacuna eggs, though father is a light sussex), and when candling I could only see veins in one egg....the other egg shells are kinda dark, and Im not all that experienced at this...there appeared to be air cells in most the other eggs though...
Should I consider all but the veiny egg to be clear and toss them, or should I keep them a little longer and hope?
This is only my second time incubating eggs so I'm a little lost at this point...any advice would be helpful.

Morning all... Heading to work ... Be back in a bit![]()
Quote: A little. Mostly a two-man job; had the 2nd man for a couple hours, but we're both talkers & spend more time yakking than working. He'll be here in little more than an hour if he's physically up to it, & we should be able to panel the back; the longest run. Need to finish the roof & get it papered; neither of us is anxious to get up there. That's what happens when old men try to do a young man's job.
you are a talker? no way!! Mornin whites hugs and love!!!
Quote: Not that I've ever heard of; getting way too cityfied
Mornin!!!Yay. I just put 4 bantam eggs in my incubator! Hopefully they arent too old and fertile! I got them off a friend. The rooster was a crossbreed bantam and the hens could be silkie bantam, australorp bantam, some other crossbreed bantam!
