Is the weed barrier to keep the gravel from migrating into the soil? You don't need it for weeds in a chicken run.Morning all-started to get caught up on the reading and then my ADD kicked in. Can't stand the coop anymore. Chickens are nasty and I dont want them to get sick. My run is approximately 24x12' long. I was thinking to lay the weed barrier down and then get 2 yards of pea gravel and 2 yards of fill sand delivered. Does this sound like it would work??? any better ideas?? Not enogh leaves yet...
paidHi yall just payed my phone plan
Baby poults are more delicate and dumb than chicks. These turkey's are goof balls. They sit in there and chirp and chirp and chirp, and when I go in to check on them, they get really silent, and then fall asleep when I'm holding them.
They appear to like to be held. They however, fall all over themselves. They are some of the clumsiest babies I've ever seen.![]()
I have 2 walk-ins and 2 more that have man size doors but still a bit tight.Great designs...I wouldn't mind having a walk-in coop again, but I've managed with what I have for 3 years; reckon I can continue.
Absolutely not. It's part of the egg. Everything inside the shell has a protein content.dumb question, but its an ongoing argument in my home, everyone knows those long white stringy things, aka the chalaza that hold the yolk in place in the egg right?
Well..... When you cook with eggs do you use a fork and get them out and trash them? or just dump the eggs in the bowl???

Hmmm!Im going crazy
X2I think that you are personalize to much your chickens, they don't hate, or love, they just act according to its instincts and nature.
She is the alfa chicken and she want to stay like that.
Don't you get it?
I'm okay personalizing my chickens. To each their own! They give me a lot of enjoyment because of it, and that's why I have them.Is the weed barrier to keep the gravel from migrating into the soil? You don't need it for weeds in a chicken run.

I wonder, does a snake remove the chalazae before swallowing the egg shell and all?
Hmmm!
Ever consider finishing your thought in the same post?

They don't really like or hate us. They just like the fact that we provide them food or not.

our land is already pretty wet and clay/mushy/nasty... So i was going to lay it down to create a barrier between the ground and the "new ground" which will be sand on pea gravel..... Will that work??? I wish I had something including weeds in there-the birds would be much more happy. Some are out in the downpour now chowing on grass, weeds and worms I'm sure! I hope they go in ok tonight-its their first time out of the coop and run....Is the weed barrier to keep the gravel from migrating into the soil? You don't need it for weeds in a chicken run.
