Incubating Washed & Refrigerated Eggs

So as an update to the rotten egg exploding in the brinsea, all but 4 of the 19 had to be chucked, but those four are now day 19 and seem to be fully developed. I am hoping that if they made it this far, we may actually get a live silkie or show girl (crossed fingers and ties). If not, I had added eggs to the incubator a few days after the cleaned up explosion from our f3 OEs for an Easter hatch.

Ouch - too bad so many had to be tossed...but maybe all four will hatch! :fl Best of luck with the "survivors" and the OEs!

Hatch day is tomorrow...but I thought I heard peeping (hard to tell over the hum of the hatcher's fan) earlier this afternoon. After misting/cooling/turning the goose eggs, I rechecked the barnyard mix eggs and saw this:

:wee

Thanks! And now there are two...and both look very similar (yellow). Lots more pips, too. :D
With refrigerated eggs, the eggs stored longer can take longer to hatch. You might have some hatching over a longer time frame than normal.

Be patient with them

Really...why?
It is the age and stress. With not refrigerated eggs storage adds to hatch--about an hour per day so 12 day old eggs will usually hatch half a day later. Refrigerating usually adds to that time.
