I meant the last nest she laid her egg in. Sorry for the confusion!

I think I'm going to have to say yes! LolSometimes I wonder if Ducks are smarter then us. LOL
So due date is this coming Saturday? March 1? I personally do not weigh mine, so I would be of no help there, I believe CA it's a lot hotter there, My guess is that could be the water loss, not necessary because you mist them. I would keep humidity where it is. How many times a day do you mist them? are you using an air or a still bator? how many times are you turning them?Hi all,
Ive been lurking for a while since i have 6 muscovy eggs. Day 35 will be saturday. The first part of the process moisture loss seemed really good. Part of the incubation, some lost quite a bit more than the 2.8%. This week has been better.
I did have a chicken hatch going simultaneously and was trying to keep it all happy. Next time, will keep to one species at a time. I'm in CA, and now have my brinsea at 53%. For the most of the incubation it was at about 40%. But with the moisture losses up, i upped it.
But I'm not sure how much is too much humidity at this time. I don't want to drown them. the moisture loss just is hard to keep to 2.8%.
Been misting, but a little leary to overdo it. From what I read, misting causes MORE moisture loss.
So here I am, new to little duckies and so nervous about hatch day. I was told they take longer, but may need help. Which comes the question: then how do I know when to help? And this hole drilling thing I see has my nerves souring. I really want these little babies to hatch.
I'm planning on stop turning them on Day 32, unless that's wrong.
And do I mist more on the last 3 days than once?
Hoping this thread can help me when I'm going through this. Doesn't sound as easy as chickens.
This one?https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/491013/goose-incubation-hatching-guide-completed
This is specifically about geese, but applies to all waterfowl. It should answer most of your questions.
There is another thread about when/if/how to assist in hatching but I don't know we're that one is.
Thank you for the link. Haven't seen that onehttps://www.backyardchickens.com/t/491013/goose-incubation-hatching-guide-completed

At this moment you do not need to worry about nothing and yes I would be misting more. At least each time you turn them. you should be turning them at LEAST three times or more per day. Perhaps going to my site www.lwbarnhouse.com click on Duck I have two methods that I have used for Call ducks and apparently they are the hardest ones to hatch. It works for other ducks as well.Thank you for the link. Haven't seen that one
hi lacrystol, I'm only misting once a day. Should I do it more? I'm using the brinsea advance with humidity pump. It cradle turns, but i also hand turn form x to o once a day. they are laying on their side. i was so worried my humidity would be too high, 50 just sounds high from what I've read. The link mention something like 13% loss by day 24 (although muscovies are longer), so i'm thinking i'm not too far off.

**I think the thing that worries me the most is :
How do I know when to help them? I'm worried on the one hand I won't know if I need to drill and be to late, OR on the other I would do it too soon. From what I've been told they can take up to 2 days to hatch since pipping. Not used to waiting that long. So that's my main issue.
I've looked at yinepu 's amazing info these last few weeks. It's been a great help. They all are developing great from what I can tell. Perhaps i'm over thinking it all, but I really appreciate all of the info you've given
**Edited- the link on assisting says to wait at least 12 hours after pip to help, but is that the same for ducks? I was under the impression that it wasn't. That ducks can pip and still take 1-2 days. **
