Incubation progress of Muscovy eggs

I thought I read you temp was at 97 or 96 that's where I got low temp from.

I have read that some people reduce the temp to 98.5-99 f at lockdown.

And that won't cause a 3 day or 4 day delay. But I thought I read it was lower then that.. Let me take another look at the yolk for the previous see if I see anything out of the ordinary..

Perhaps the temp gage is off and they've been incubating at a lower temp the whole time, that could explain this.

And this is today. Deciding he was definitely not coming back I took him out of the shell to have a good look at what happened.
I still can't bring myself to bury him as I'm stupidly hoping he may come back :-/

This is the guy I'm examining, if he's from the same batch, I can see a couple of things going on....

GOOD POINT, definitely could be...

Several posts back they said the temp was at 97.3 and I'm guessing that was the lockdown temp, not the incubation temp. It's since been raised.

I had a duckling like the on pictured above and it could not absorb it's yolk due to a defect.
