You told us this morning that he had pipped and asked if he needed a safe hole and were told "no".

Any pictures of the eggtopsy? Was he shrinkwrapped?

No idea what happened - but 11 - who was breathing and pecking at his shell this AM, died in the shell.

AHHH did you open him??? What day is he on??

Just did. Would you believe the wing was OVER the head?! The yolk sac still had some absorbing to do, but there were no red veins...I really wonder if he needed a safe hole. Just don't know!

I'm so sorry, quackers. Does this mean we need to make safe holes for the rest of them? This surely threw a wrench in the gears. Where are the experienced people! We're just a couple of newbies here! Is Kathy still around? What about lacrystol?

Where's the humidity at? Where the temp at? He pipped internally this Morning? I don't recall you saying that. Maybe I missed it. DANG IT.

I usually give them about 24 hours from internal pip before I make a safe hole. I read somewhere that often the shells are too thick for them to pip, so some people sand the shell will sand paper to make it easier. Of course this would not be done until they had pipped internally, and I'm not suggesting that it be done, just sharing what I read.
