Incubation progress of Muscovy eggs

Can anybody tell me what Pip's fascination is with my mouth/lips? She's constantly manouvering around at night to sit right in front of my face and nibble at me. It's bizarre and starting to concern me lol.
She's got plenty of food and fresh water and has had a go at some diced up lettuce etc so I'm oblivious to what she may be telling me she wants /needs?

Seeing how they can't lick, She's merely trying to give you a WHOLE lot of Kisses.. I CAN'T BELIEVE YOUR COMPLAINING. LOL

They just love to nibble, our drake we raised inside because mama rejected him loved to nibble on our faces clothes etc still does but at 3yrs old it hurts on the face. lol you might try holding a head of Romaine lettuce and letting her nibble on that. just make sure she has access to grit before introducing greens. my goslings loved nibbling on the Romaine even at one week old.

Ouch! That would not tickle :-( I'm so worried she will be a he and won't be able to live with us. I would be heart broken. She has so much personality at only 1 week old lol.
Your drake you mentioned. Was he able to stay with you and live with the flock?
When you say grit, do you mean sand/soil? I went and picked a clump of grass from outside leaving some soil attached and put it in a shallow dish of water for Pip and she's been eating the dirt as well as the grass and loves it. Is that okay? She also has her starter crumble.

I am absolutely not complaining lol. I am so smitten with this little ball of fluff. She is ADORABLE!!
Being the over thinker that I am I was worried she was trying to let me know she wanted or needed something she wasn't getting? If it's just kisses I am stoked :)

I really love it when they do that, but I try not to allow it...it hurts when they bite after they get big! I also don't let my dogs lick me in the face either! Lol.

I'd not put the clump of dirt/grass in water though just let her peck through it she'll get the grit from the soil. We have chick grit we can buy here, I don't use it unless I'm brooding inside since all my flock are on the ground. except if we have a long time with snow on the ground I'll put some out then. most of our grocery stores carry grit for caged birds in the pet food isle too so you don't have to buy a large bag. oh and my drake well there is no way we could part with him, he is here to stay. and still loves to come up and say hello and nibble on us.

Thanks for that. I'll have a look at the local supermarket after the weekend :)

Three are out and fluffing up! Since both of my incubators are occupied I had to put them in a towel on warm water bottles and I covered that with a sleeping bag. Humidity in my house is quite low and two still managed to zip. Go figure...
