I bought an Accu-Rite digital thermometer with humidity display for about $8 at Walmart, and an analog dial-type one at Lowes, also for about $8. The humidity display is a hygrometer, which is what you're looking for. The cheap digital ones can be a bit slow to respond to changes, but it has a memory feature to record the high/low range for both temperature and humidity. If the one you get is made of black plastic, make sure the light isn't shining directly on it or it will read higher than the actual temperature.

What wattage bulb and what vents did you have in the lid or a peep hole?

My bulb was a 60 Watt, and as for vents, I honestly didn't have very many... I just took a drill and drilled about 10 pencil sized towards the bottowm of the wall, and a little bit larger one closer to the top... I set 25 eggs, five were infertile, and 9 hatched.
