Save a chick is also good stuff.

Get nutridrench when you can it's great to have on hand.

For now I would offer the chick some water but be sure it has marbles etc in the waterer so the baby can't drown.

If it's going to survive it will likely get it's feet under it. Chicks rest for a while after hatch anyways and especially hatching in that manner it's been through a lot. I'm guessing it probably lost some blood when the egg was smashed and needs to recover if it can.

:) Good luck and keep us updated.

Yea I noticed a lot of blood when I picked up the egg shells... I'm hoping it will be ok.

Looks like it's a silver laced wingotte/ araucana mix

Wyandotte is the spelling you want.

Are you sure the Araucana is a true Araucana? If it's a hatchery bird than it is a mislabeled EE. Great birds but not really a breed just a fun colored egg layer.

I really hope your little makes it. Wyandottes crossed with ee can make some amazing birds with beautiful lacing.

If your little does make it you will want to find it a couple of brooder mates so it isn't lonely. I always recommend a minimum of three in the brooder so that if one were to die the other wouldn't be left alone. This is also good for their ability to relate to and integrate with other birds. Sometimes pairs or trios have problems with that in my experience so I always try for four in the brooder together.

If you can only find one or two friends for your little that would be okay too. For now keep the chick warm and let it rest but have water and food available. If you dip the beak in water be aware that you could potentially cause the chick the aspirate if it's unable to drink.

Tried giving it some of the mix

It's got 3 that hatched a day before it. And 1 more that's about to go into the hatching stage.

Dunno about pure araucana. He was labeled ee, but has the fluffy cheeks

EE often have a beard and muffs.

Araucana have feather tufts which are different and also a lethal gene when a bird has two copies. Araucanas are also usually tailless/rumpless, depending on the country the standard can be different. Some have tails but they aren't showable in the US I believe and they come in color specific varieties like Ameracaunas do.

Your bird is an EE for sure.

A pic of his tail if it is close enough, only one I have. Didnt know ee could also have puffy cheeks.
