Me and my buddy just got a used chest type incubator . The automatic turner tilts to the left and right but in order to get the shelf out they need to be sitting level. Is there a secret to getting the trays level so I can pull it out to load it with eggs? This sounds like a dumb question I know. Its always on a 45 degree angle one way or the other, can't catch it in the middle of a turn to turn it off so I can pull the shelf out.

Yep just remember to put back in auto after you are done....been there.

Thanks for the replies! You are correct about the third position, I just never thought to try that. I have another friend that has a similiar incubator and he also mist his eggs with water with a spray bottle? Ever heard of that? He has a high percentage of hatch rate, so I guesshe knows what he is doing. Thanks again for the response it was helpful.

All this guy hatches is chicken eggs, he has about a 95 percent hatch rate. I would think spraying them would be to much humidity. But he knows what he is doing evidently.

If you have a good coach that has success hatching in your area, question him closely and try to do what he does. Try to make sure you are talking apples and apples, not apples and oranges, such as still air versus forced air, but if things look similar, take advantage where you can. And make sure you have calibrated your thermometer and hygrometer so you know you are talking apples and aples.

Good luck!!
