Incubator temp problems

Thinking of scrapping this incubator and getting a new one. What do you think of Hova Bator 1588?

I have a still air incubator and having problems getting the temperatures adjusted. Is their anyone out there that can help me out with my situation? When the incubator is first plugged in it shows the preset settings of 99.5 degrees. Have had the machine plugged in for two days and the temp is 75.2 on the digital thermometer. Does the digital thermometer give the outside readings or the inside readings.

I am considering a hova bator as well. I have my eye on the one with the "picture window" top. I think out of the styrofoam bators I've heard the most good things about the hova bators.

Should be reading the inside temp. I don't have one of these, but a lot of what I am seeing with them is that the settings have to be set higher to get the correct temp, and with a still air you want that temp to be 101-102 near the top of the egg.

I am having the same issue with the LG Still Air 9300, New Digital. In the back corners to right and left of the incubator, I have reached temps up to 111, just to get the front corners right and left to read 102. If I lower the temp, I am getting around 104-105 in the back and only 98 in the front. I have been alternating the eggs but my last 2 hatches were low and I think it is due to temps being too low. My chicks are hatching late and are full of amber goo. I have purchased a fan kit and am hoping for a better result. If not, I may have to stabilize temps on the back end, and not set eggs in the front, but it sucks that you can only set half the eggs that the turner can hold. I also find that it takes forever to recover temps once you open the bator. I have a hova bator too and it gets pretty close to even in the still air, I just bought a genessiss so I will so how that one goes. I find the hova bator also does not take as long to recover the temps. I am thinking of using the LG just as hatcher but for that I will still only be able to used one end or the other. The last hatch, I think I baked a few. At one point, the back got to 118, but the front was only at 102. I am using a brinsea spot check to verify temps and they are supposed to be accurate.

Wouldld moving the eggs around help? Maybe move them so thier not always too cold or hot?
