incubator went up to 103....

I have recently just had some quail hatch (yesterday) and their temperature spiked to about 119, for a good few hours, it wasn't until i returned home from hospital that i noticed. They were BURNING hot to touch, but i kept them just in case... Three of them have hatched, and let me tell you...they are big birds compared to the ones that didn't have a temp raise. :)

They were due to hatch today and hatched a day early. So i am glad i didn't throw them out.
oh and-- 3 out of how many?

Ten spiked... Four of those have hatched so far.. Still more to hatch so can't really say for a couple of days as they were due today and its pretty common for a few to be late. :)

I really expected no survivors after that, so I am shocked and pleased!

just want to update... hatch day is tomorrow, but i can see that at least one egg is MOVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
more tomorrow!
humidity has been raised to 70% and now we wait!!!!

nothing... time to float test??
it's day 20 today.
UPDATE!!!
we have had our first fuzzy hatch and one more pip that i can see. we took the first one out and put under heat lamp because we could see that the humidity was low and needed more water anyway. the humidity is going back up now. i don't know why it doesn't hold humidity well... we won't open again unless humidity goes down again. we have water in the reservoir. would a sponge be better?
