I use led lights,,, but I add vitamins to their feed... They do get some natural light from high panels on the sides of pole barn

And I really think they are so use to being handle and held,,,they think they deserve it daily..,I open a door to a pen and am rushed by birds

Sounds as bad as one of my teenage roos..... I call him baby red if I don't pick him up and love on him in the eve he will pick at my shoe till I do lol crazy roo

His Daddy is my favorite rir and he hatched from a welsummer egg.... goodness what a lover every night he insists on being picked up and held.

Well, I woke up to a surprise this morning. I could've swore that I didn't have any eggs die until next weekend. I woke up this morning hearing peeping from the cabinet....very confused, I opened it up to find 2 very large CX outcross babies just hanging out on the rack staring at me. OOPS! They never had lockdown or humidity above 28% but they hatched themselves out just fine. I double checked. NOW I don't have anything due till next weekend lol

I may end up in confusion this hatch as I have some due christmas eve and 2 due new years eve and 9 several days after that with 5 more under a broody..... sigh just don't forget which day for which group right?? Lol

Here are my giant CX outcross surprise babies from a week ago, with 2 more that just hatched yesterday. They've grown so much in a week!

Then just for the fun of it, 3-4 week old seramas and the new serama baby that just hatched

Hope everyone else crazy enough to hatch right now is having good hatches!

Merry Christmas! I am half way through my christmas eve hatch and things are looking good, It looks like 3 late quitters but everything else is looking good. 9 so far in the brooder with 12 external pips and 8 that have internal pips. I am very excited!
