Incubators Anonymous

Hi I'm Shawn and I have never hatched a single egg. But I'm in the final stages of my diy incubator I can see how addictive this is I have every thermometer I can find sticking out of or inside a foam box and I check them all the time my wife thinks I'm loosing my mind can't wait till I set eggs. May need a coop big for me and incubator!! If test runs work out and grandfather's hens lend a hand I will set Saturday.

Hi,

My name is Kathy, and I am an incubation addict. I currently have a Brinsea 40 advanced with 56 eggs in it. Mostly Bantam EEs, Apenzeller Spitzhaubens, and my own silkie eggs. I have an Little Giant with 16 Silkie/Sizzle/Frilkies and 6 Cream Legbars. I have a few Trader Joe eggs in each bator as well. I just got 21 eggs from a friend's neighbor to hatch for him, since a local dog got into his coop and killed several of his hens. I'm not sure where those are going.

I have a Incuview that I call the Deathbator since nothing has hatched in it that currently sits empty. I need to run some tests on it to find out why NOTHING hatched when I used it for a lockdown bator, and nothing hatched when I used it for a day 1 - 18 bator.

Happy Hatching everyone!!.

Good luck! I still haven't tackled the adventure of building an incubator since I found a great deal on my cabinet bator but hubby is interested in building one and I keep filling mine to the brim so it may happen lol.

I hope the hens give you some eggs and you get lots of babies, then you'll truely feel the incubation addiction!

Welcome to the fun! You're filling that brisea to the max! And it sounds like you'll have some really awesome babies before long.

I wonder why the incuview isn't working right? That doesn't make any sense. Hopefully you get it figured out.

This project started because grandfather who had a cabinet bator sold it for no apparent reason then replaced that with LG still air. Then he just quit. Turns out he was having trouble reading and setting temps instead of asking for help he gave up. I figured I would make the bator test it set some eggs and see if he wants to baby sit it if it works has led control that he can see plus incutherm plus that is even larger. I found this site and it has got me hooked was looking for ideas for turner. Now I'm planning to order 50 coturnix quail eggs as soon I know bator works. And it starts!!!

Hi Shawn and Kathy Welcome to the worlds greatest addiction...

I have eggs hatching today and I can't be here. this is terrible! I hope I survive this.

Dhetzel that is an amazing incubator, you might have a career as a professional enabler making incubators. Thanks for showing me that Aurora.

I'm addicted to hatching as well.

Don't have a cabinet bator yet. But I have a brinsea 20 adv.

Reptipro 6000 and 1588 genesis.

My flock is mixed chickens. Rhode islands. Barred rocks. Silver wyandottes. Cinnamon queens. Buff orphinton. And a couple easter eggers.

My turkey flock is 12 toms 14 hens.

Royal palms. Bourbon reds. Chocolates.

Right now I have 10 welsummer eggs on lockdown.

12 welsummer eggs for the easter hal.

8 turkey eggs set from my flock. Cooking right now.

My birds are just getting started laying.
So I'm hoping in a few weeks will have all the bator full.

Planning to set eggs every Thurs so I can have babies each weekend.

This week's hatch should be interesting :)

My grandfather surprised me instead of chicken eggs this Friday he will have about 2 dozen turkey eggs for me to set. I'm a little nervous now we have had some mild weather here for two weeks but now cooling down again so he said they would go to waste anyway so try it. So wish me luck. And that's an extra week to wait too.
