Incubators Anonymous

Pics
I ended up making my own incubators because I wanted to hatch during the winter, (seems like a long wait till spring and the feed store) plus it keeps me busy during the winter. The up side is the lay eggs by may or so.

Som updates of my last hatch...... ok they are almost 2 weeks old but I am loving the colors on this little one

I JUST SET SOME EGGS!!!
Hello, fellow addicts! I have succumbed to my chick fever and just set 10 eggs from my girls, mainly to check fertility of my cockerels hatched this spring. I'm excited to see if any hatch! I set 6 eggs from my BW Ams, and 4 from my Speckled Sussex (only 1 girl laying atm). I'll update with pics when it's time to candle! Fingers crossed for the beautiful splash wheaten cockerel I've been dreaming about! I just love the look of them!

Cuz I'm obsessing, here's some pics of the parents of these eggs:

Ok, I'll stop now. I'm just so excited for more fluffballs!! Bring on the cuteness!

Gorgeous birds! I hope you have a great hatch!

I'm still trying to get my serama eggs to hatch. 2 Have made it long enough to get to lockdown but neither of them hatched  I guess I'll just keep trying. The girls are starting to lay more reliably now so it's only a matter of time till one actually hatches. My luck, it'll be a cockerel lol. I sould be getting some silkie/showgirl eggs in the mail within a week and I'll be separating my breeds just after Thanksgiving so the incubator will be filling up soon! I think it's time I go out and break those goofy, broody, ayam cemani girls. They're relentless!

I have a roo that looks like your rooster with the blue under carriage, I had a diff roo that looked that way too that I gave away. The roo that is the dad of my eggs is a blue isbar, at least I think he is the dad, I had 2 other roos with the hen but the bue isbar was more mature. My eggs are on day 11.

So, have any of you tried to predict fertility from a Day 1-2 candle? I've done it on 3 hatches before, and I was 100% right all 3 times. Am I just lucky, or have any of you accurately predicted fertility this early?
