That's AMAZING for shipped eggs!! What kind of turkeys are they?
Just candled Dorkings last night! Still have 5 going strong!!!! They go in the hatcher Wednesday. Whooohooo!
That not too bad out of 9..but you never know what the USPS does to them even when packed well, I have 2 turkey going that i can tell i think one of the bantams is clear haven't really done a big candle just a quick in the incubator one.....I have never had an egg broken yet that I have shipped even when the box was tore up

I've never had any broken shells, but I have had a few scrambled ones. In the last shipment I got, only one egg was intact, all the rest were either scrambled or had detached air cells. Screw you, USPS!

I could vomit right now! I just went to set eggs in my incubator and my power supply for my fans had a short & was off! It was 77 degrees in there! And I have NO idea how long they've sat like that! I candled last night, but I honestly have NO IDEA if my eggs were cool or not! :(

it takes a while for the eggs to cool down inside do you have some heat source you could use heat lamp, heating pad etc

I got it working again for now. When I noticed I was checking everything to be sure it was all plugged in good and when I touched the cord for the power supply to the fans they restarted. So I taped it in a position that they r working. When my bf gets home he will check it out and change it or something.

Oh boy, to try quail again or not..... All my little bobwhites died shortly after hatching. Not sure what the issue was there. Anywho... There is this empty spot in the bator that would be filled in perfectly with those little eggs! Deciding if I want to give bobwhites a go again or go with the cortunix..... Decisions decisions

Well, this is what I do when i can't decide....Do BOTH! I have Texas a&m coturnix, superb layers, great hatch rates when I've set eggs, just set some more last night...I've been tempted by the snowflake bobwhites. So many choices! Isn't it GREAT????

My 23 week old EE pullet hatched out her first chick after only 20 days and she still has 20 egg's underneath her the funny part about this photo is how big they can make themselves look and I bet she don't weigh in at more then 3 pounds .....

Well I packed in one Sportsmans lasntight with 18 dozen eggs and had 10 cochin bantams extra and threw those in the 2nd Sportsman along with the 19 guinea eggs I had left after the big temp spike in the industrial that killed nearly 200(80+ were live chicks that hatched) The sportsmans seem to be holding good right now even with this heat. I still may have to purchase a dehumidifier at some point or just move them to the basement. I have 6 live chicks left that hatched after the spike that I put over in the Brinsea to hatch but one BLRW has a messed up leg now, I'm blaming it on the flooring in the Brinsea. I normally pull chicks as soon as they dry but this year have been leaving them in until all chicks have hatched. I've had more leg problems in the last few weeks that I've never had before from leaving them in. The next time I fill I will be lining the floor with shelf liner in hopes to avoid this from happening again.

I line the bottom with paper towels at lockdown, haven't had any problems doing that. I do that for the Brinsea and the styros.

Makes cleanup easier, too.
