Hi, thanks for your comments.

Just thought id let you know. We are at day 21.5, all have pipped, saw the first one slide out this morning, a healthy looking black chick (Plymouth Rock) and the second shortly after, a healthy little fuzzy yellow thing... (3/4 plymouth, 1/4 buff Orp)

The hatches have been clean so far, nice dome zipped off, no red navels, not excessively gooey, no stuff hanging from the chicks.

Seems lower humidity in the first 18 days has helped.

I'll let you know about the other 4

Yay chickens

I had a great day today. My first sale of birds. Got rid of 27 excess birds and freed up a ton of space. You know what that means? Buy more eggs of course.

I have Swedish Flower hens in the incubator but I'd really like to get some good Basques. I had only one and she was a total delight. Not afraid. Walk right up to me. But she was "culled" by a predator.

They excel in hatching and the heat (coming from Spain). And the eggs ship well I hear. I sold all my egg layers. The rest I kept won't be laying for a couple of months. I have to BUY.

I started with one batch of eggs...now I have 4 batches in the incubator.

I'm newer and didn't realize that you could do more than one or two at a time. Due to lockdown.

I'm not sure which one I use for incubation, its a styrofoam one. It's a friends. Then the hatcher I use is a home made one that hold 12 normals sized eggs and abut 18 bantam eggs. Would like to make a bigger one. I never do more than 10 eggs in one batch though. The silkies will be kept no matter what. The eggs from my flock I am using for meat and eggs so I will be hatching our more yearly.

NOT SURE WHAT COLOR SILKIES YOU HAVE OR NEED.....I DO HAVE 2 NICE WHITE ROOSTER FOR SALE OR TRADE I AM ALSOGETTING 12 WEEK OLD CHICKS TOMORROE...BLUES, LILACS, SPLASH AND PARTRIDGE
