One of my friends hatches a lot of different kinds of Quail, including Buttons. I still cannot believe how small they are!!! It's incredible, they are so cute.

Found more eggs deposited by the hens into the broody's nest! Found one of the hens squished in to lay! THe BA did not budge or hiss . . . . rather MORE, MORE, MORE.
She had 20 eggs under her! 20!!
I pulled her out to eat and drink while I quickly snanned for X's. I heard that ominous thunk--an egg cracking on the coop floor.
ANd I had checked for any eggs tucked between her legs. Really, I did!! Fortunately it didn't have an X and that egg and the other extras headed to the house. . ... and upstairs and into the incubator!!!
PS. THe cracked one headed to the kitchen for eating.
