Doin the bator shuffle to move ones ready to hatch this week into bator #1, stuffed a do2en eggs hatching between now & Thursday under 2 Silkies that decided to sit on my "decoy golf balls" and thot they would hatch

Some are getting double stacked til a few more hatch, but I'll get em all stuffed in there some how!!!!!!

Current egg count IN the bators & under hens is 260 ducks, chicks, turkeys, pheasants, quail & button quail, 4 chicks in the brooder, and 53 chicks & ducks waiting to go in the bators.

Egg total since April is 524.
I thought I was the only one that did that

. I just started ordering off of ebay and several sent several extra. I ended up buying 2 more incubators last minute. Not as happy with them, but trying anyway. This is my first time hatching. Good Luck!

I've added the dehumidifier into the incubating room. THe eggs just aren't hatching at their usually rate and the eggtopsied ones are wet. Humidity is finally down into the 20's, so I'm hoping for some better hatches. 1/8 ducks was depressing. Poor thing needs a buddy--so I put in more eggs.

Hi All, hi Donna :) here I am. Lol. Donna invited me over to the addicts thread because she has me figured out. So here goes. Hi, I'm Cher and I am addicted to hatching anything that in the least bit resembles an egg. ::::waving and blushing:::: I am starting my second hatch in our new house because I am sick of living without chickens and my first hatch was busted by the storm and power outage. Sigh. Laura says the storms happenedc because I was incubating.

So when I have eggs left that might yet go, even two days without power, I start gathering a Mad Hatcher's Batch. Some good, normal eggs from good breeders but then I solicit, buy, beg and cajole eggs you are not supposed to incubate from friends, breeders, the grocery stores. I take refrigerated, funky shaped, muddy, overheated in a car- thank you Donna :D. And 2-6 week old eggs, mark them and call it a Mad Hatcher's Batch. Then what happens, happens, I do my bit, turning and temps, and just let it roll.

There was an added incentive this time. My know-it-all daughter said those eggs don't hatch! Rude child. When she's cleaning brooders for impossible chicks I will have my revenge! If only perfection and pristine eggs hatched there would be no chickens. First time broodies are more often than not complete idiots. I stopped counting the number of chicks/eggs I had to use an incubator to rescue.

So here I am and here I'll stay :) because in 2008 I got my first chickens in forever and hatching...especially if you bator build, is addictive. The Mad Hatcher's Batch goes into the Winkubator Friday with any luck.

well so far so good... all of the bantam eggs but 2 are pipped/out, so i've got 1 blue wyandotte, 2 self blue (lavender) cochins, 1 black cochin, 2 mille cochin and 1 oegb. and 3 more black/self blue cochin, 2 mille cochin & 1 oegb pipped.

and today's day 25 for the guineas (7). i put them in lockdown yesterday because a couple had already internally pipped.
