I had forgotten about New Hampshires , thanks DMRippy. That is a another good option. I kinda wanted to keep them separated for breeding purposes though, seeing as I have 10 acres to work with. By the way I have some PRs and they are wonderful layers, although I have to set a light up on a timer when the days get shorter to keep production up. Out of curiosity what is the most eggs any of you have ever hatch out at once?

Feel free to blame it on me, then show him pictures of the bald roller girl who was pressuring you. I can about guarantee he will stutter and go on about his business sourly.

nope wouldn't do any good. i'm bout as bald too. LOL long story (medical reasons i keep it that short), but short is that 'it's hair, it grows' LOL and i cut it all off again. we do same to him. but in his defense, he was molested by a cow as a child (or so the story goes) and thus is one large continuous cowlick...

He's 6'3 mean and all redneck. I am 5'1 1/2 and will go toe to toe with him. That what he likes about me. I am nice, nice, nice then I put my foot down and momma ain't playin when she does it. I figure if I can bring a 1200lb horse to it's knees he doesn't have a chance(trust me the horse deserved it). Besides you know what they say "If momma's not happy ain't nobody gonna be happy" BTW momma is going to buy 4 Black Orpington pullets in about 10 days! WHHHHOOOOOO HOOOOOO!

It would really be nice to cull of these birds down before winter sets in...AND of course then I can replace them..correct?

The chicken math rules clearly state that a flock owner must replace each bird sold with at least two birds for the good of the nation's economy. Are you with me here, ladies?

This is how I understand the rules of Chicken Math!

HAH

I am setting a loaded incubator once my shipped eggs get here. Getting24 + shipped so once I know what I have for room I will fill the space with mystery chicks hehe.

My current homemade incubator will hold 7 doz egg. My first hatch I set 57 but only 31 made it to lockdown and 3 should not have and 2 died. This hatch is only 14 and the next hatch should be close to 3 doz.

I like the NH better then the Prod Reds just seem nicer, but i want eggs. I do need to put up light ASAP some days I get 8 some days I get 3 and I should be getting between 15-18.

I am busy converting my goat creep feeder into a chicken coop. Just need to fill in a few places on the walls and put on a new door. Then build a run and nest boxes. The Speckled Sussex are going to love it!
Oh yes ,and I set 4 more dozen eggs today!
