Incubators Anonymous

I can't wait to check this next batch of eggs. I have my CCL with the new roo and some from CJWaldon in there too.... some White Breese too... more eggs coming..... what am I doing!?!?!?!?!? I am selling chickens as fast as I can..... so I can cut the egg production DOWN to manageable numbers.
If I was closer I might have to help you out with the chicken sales, but I don't think my brother or my husband would be ok with me going that far for some chickens when I am not pregnant and you are not the nearest Church's Chicken to us. lol

has anyone tried the
stc-1000 temp controller

im looking to upgrade my water heater to one, and make some changes to my icechest incubator
I use them in my incubator, hatchers..... they work very well. Takes a long time to get here from China.
you can also get on amazon from usa if you are in a hurry.

i love them

Hello my name is Tracy and I am an incubating addict. After my first two attempts were totally unsuccessful my third produced 3 slikie cross chicks (maybe 4). I have come to the conclusion I need to "practice" much more. I just bought a young cockrel to make it possible to "practice" regularly

You have the right attitude for incubating try, try and try again I will bet given a few years and you will be teaching the rest of us what to do and how to do it

I hate it when that happens.....

I put those odd hatch days on my calendar or I would forget them..... still do sometimes.

My last hatch in the new hatcher had more shrink wrapping.. I only lost one but I have another one that is iffy. I did have to help more this round. I think I have a way to up the humidity but it is short lived and really sucks the water up. I may have to have more trays of water in each drawer.

2 more hatched overnight.. that makes 80% hatch rate!! not bad for 25% humidity. One was spraddled from being in the turner but I used two of the id bands linked together as a hobble and he/she is right as rain this morning..

I know the feeling... my roo guy came by last week but i still have many that are not sexable yet (eg: SBELS lol!!) the giant brooder is packed and i need to get the bigger ones out of there so i can add the new tiny ones.. i have them at 0, 1 and 2 weeks to go in. Chick sales have tapered off lately, but that's ok i will grow them out and sell as pullets and stuff.

my excess egg person closes his U Pick when the season is over so i have to get my egg production back down too...

good luck :D!!!! BTW I looked into getting a new lavender roo from hardin poultry have you seen their pricies!! like $75 per chick! i think i will get a black roo and make splits LOL!

your temp is 75.5 or humidity ? Take out the water maybe your home humidity is high .. I incubate in my basment and there is a home dehumidifier down there I know in my house the humidity can run 60 or more depending on the time of year.

I broke down and bought a 3rd incubator. Then there were empty spots in it so I just had to buy Dorking eggs to fill the spots! I'm going to have more chicks in 3 weeks! Plus my Buff Laced Brahmas and Lavender Orpingtons are hatching today!
