Friday going to get some new birds. 8 for sure (Was what seller said he wanted to sell. Wife wants 12, go figure). He is a breeder and sells hatching eggs thru Ebay (Local guy, I put 2 and 2 together.) Hens will be with roosters until I get them. So for isolation before I add to flock I will be saving eggs for probably 2 weeks to hatch. I see it as getting a few dozen (I hope) hatching eggs for free when I buy the girls. Wife has agreed to it as well. Not trying to short change a guy but he wants to sell birds, eggs he list on EBAY. I believe his rooster/hen ratio is why he is selling the girls. And if I get the eggs from the girls cheaper than I would thru Ebay, why not? And the bonus is they won't be shipped.
Still nothing last I checked from incubator for the late chicks, my luck I cracked the only viable egg, which chick didn't recover. All other eggs seem fine in development.
