Hatching today

so far it's a good hatch!! one Black Copper Marans is out (but i only put in one egg LOL) three of the Black Tailed Buffs are out and one of the wheatens is out...

can't wait until the morning when i get to open the incubator

there are still a few in there pipped but not out yet.. and i can't see into the wheatens basket because the paper towel flipped up and it's blocking the view!! Grr...

I have had quail going off like popcorn. 110 hatched in 12 hours with more pipped.

the power was off yesterday from 11-5 I was a little worried about the eggs in the Hatcher since it got down to 63. the incubator was about 67-68. but I had babies today so all is good. I expect a few might be late...

Yay!!! sounds like we are having a hatching festival today

Congrats on all your babies woohoo!!!! mine were early actually, hatch day is tomorrow, maybe i had been collecting the eggs for too long.. Now THIS TIME i better not mix up those BTB's with the Wheatens.. !! I got smaller leg bands this time around...

I find some breeds just hatch early. Same amount of collection time same incubator and some hatch early and some on time .... very few hatch late. Could your temp be a little higher? that will cause them to hatch early too. Mine hatch earlier in the summer.

Picked up a Buff silkie hen yesterday and a partridge silkie today.... breeding soon to follow.....

YEAH i had some quail eggs sent they where so cold when i got them i waited a couple of days for the leahy trip
actually i didnt think they would hatch but today being hatch day i now have 25 beautiful babies .

Ohhhh well. I'm officially a chicken addict. Crazy chicken lady, yes. We have about 50 chickens and between what the broody girls are sitting on and the ones in the incubator....plus the eggs I get next week.....I seriously think we will be doubling our flock size. Holy moly. Lol Hubby isn't trying to keep me contained. His fault. Heehee
