I gave up on finding Norwegian Jaerhon hatching eggs...I got some chicks from Ideal. I'd rather support small breeders/backyard flocks. Also, hatching eggs don't suffer from heat/dehydration/cold/die of the box takes too long, they just become nonviable.

Sandhill Preservation falls in between a small breeder and a hatchery. They personally breed everything but you couldn't call them small. They have the regular Norwegian Jaerhon and then they have a sport color they call Flame Jaerhons.

I think I blacked out for awhile last evening because now I'm going to be receiving another two boxes of eggs next week.

I wish ya'll would've blacked out and bought duck eggs on eBay. I just had an auction for purebred Magpie duck eggs (a critically endangered breed of excellent egg layers) that went for $0.99...plus shipping. I actually lost money on that one after the cost of packaging and eBay fees.

Now I'm going to list them for higher. If they don't sell, then they go into the fridge. No skin off of my nose, but at least I actually make a few bucks off the auction.

Oh, I understand but on the bright side if these are critically endangered chalk this one up to your part in breed preservation!

Hope for a 50% hatch rate, try to buy them as close as you can to your location to keep the shipping times down,
have them shipped on Monday or Tuesday to avoid having them sit over the weekend somewhere.
People advise letting them sit near but not in the incubator from 4 hours to a few days before setting them.
I would recommend 4-8 hours which should be more than enough time for them to settle and stabilize.
Next best advice is ask any and all questions here, someone will surely have something to say.
