Incubators Anonymous

From my experiences,...New borns do best with wet feed and water beside it.
If you have large eggs they may indeed need extra days and higher humidity. For some Pheasants they seldom hatch at 21 days ever from my experience. It sounds like you did what you needed to do. Do not know if you had a power failure anytime during incubating of what you have.

If it is yolk don't worry about it.... intestines probably will not make it.  Sometimes they can either not close at the umbilical cord or they can pull them out when they hatch...... I have seen chicks squish them out of newly hatched chicks too....]

I can't tell if it's just yolk. Looks like a sack of blood vessels and such.

She is such a lively, strong lil chick. I hope she makes it.

You would know if it is yolk.... it is kinda like the thick egg white but just a tint of yellow to it.... well at least the ones I have seen seem to be clear with a tint of yellow. If it looks bloody my guess is it is intestines... it it is small amount they might retract but you would need to keep it moist. Good luck.

It is intestines. :(
Doing my best to keep it wet. Poor little baby. Is she in pain? She doesn't seem like it?

So I accidentally turned the bator off over night a week or so ago.... luckily I don't think it affected anything. My hatch is going fine, they might be a little late but still a good hatch (due yesterday, but some hatched yesterday and are still hatching).

Lets see if I can keep the keets alive this time.... I lost my whole hatch a couple of weeks ago within a couple of days. I tried a new waterer and I think that did them in.

Here it is day 21 &, for the 1st time ever, I don't have ANY babies yet!!!! I have a few external pips here and there, like 3 of 26, so I can't candle for internals! I'm getting nervous!

This is my 1st hatch from my new cabinet coolerbator, & using my Genesis 1588 for a hatcher. I usually have early babies, like day 19! So here's hoping that my cooler just held such GREAT temps, they will all start today!!!
