what kind of power output capacity do you have and what do you use? if you can find/make 12v incubators they would be most compatible with off-the-grid systems since inverters are very inefficient (turning 12v to 110v, the inverter itself uses up some of that available power on it's own).
I haven't got to the point of an incubator yet...still in research mode.what kind of power output capacity do you have and what do you use? if you can find/make 12v incubators they would be most compatible with off-the-grid systems since inverters are very inefficient (turning 12v to 110v, the inverter itself uses up some of that available power on it's own).
You really did not ask us if you should get a third bator, did you?Just received my 32 Lavender Orp eggs in the mail, all 32 are intact, tonight I will candle for cracks and air cells and tomorrow I will set them. Then....
i'm waiting for my 12+ Easter Eggers to come in the mail and I will add them to the LO batch. It will work out that, lockdown for the EEs is hatch day for the LO. Good thing I have two incubators.....
Should I get a 3rd....![]()

So those of you that keep multiple breeding pens quick question. I hope to set up at least 2-3 next year, during the spring/partial summer months, but for the winter ext. I would like to keep everyone in a large communal coop (I hope to finish this year) in my pole barn. Reason being here in Antarctica errr... North Dakota we get brutal winters and I would rather have everyone in one area. Anyone else do this or do they just keep their breeding groups in their own areas all year?
