Once I get it finished, and the chickens installed , I will take a pic. OMG, I opened the door tonight to feed the quail and the little boogers ran over and five of them jumped out in the dark!!! So there I was trying to find these little bitty guys, and some of them got in under the skirt of the brooder, oh man. But I think I got all of them. Gave me a scare! Tomorrow I am going to put a board there to keep them from jumping out when I open the door!

I'm glad you caught them all. Quail are super skidish!!

I just was informed that my roo might be a BSL what are they usually from a hatchery? I thought I was hatching barred rocks... now what do I have?

no biggie... they will be ok layers, the boys may need to go though. HE needs to go!!!! I want ROCKS!!!! Now I need a blue rock and BR roo....

I need to get some of those really pretty BR, with tight barring ( I don't know what that is called but it sure looks good

) Who has those around here anybody.... close????​

Talk about make Hatchery Stock BR's look like trash...no offence intended twards the HS BRs.

i hadn't decided against, but I hadn't decided for... thought I told you i'd let you know if/when i get the old girls... (make my decision next weekend...)

no biggie... i've got my EE eggs (if any are viable that is) and if you still want ittybitty bantam muttbabies you're still welcome to the eggs. I won't have room for many this go-round. especially if the 6+ marans become more than 8... then i won't have room for any! at least not for a week or so.

Then again I could always hold off a few days on something, and incubate in the hatcher and switch the eggs around when it comes time to hatch...

If we all had our way, we'd sleep in piles of chicks with a snorkle on so we could breath.

My neighbor comes over and lets the chicks crawl all over her. She is chicken addicted too, thanks to me! She has RIR, Gold Laced Wyandottes, and a pair of bantam cochins, plus two ducks and two bunnies! When I moved here, she had a cat. Period. I gave her her first chicken coop, chickens, rabbit hutch, rabbits, and a duck I hatched. Now I have a chicken sitter next door!:-D
