DEEP bedding seems to help prevent it too. One of the chicks that hatched last batch had 'wonky' legs too, and i wrapped it loosely in a washcloth, and put down into a short cup (about 3" tall 3" wide brim) and by the time his yolk was gone his legs were strong enough to propel him out of the cup to go find food... can't say that would work for everyone but it did this chick...
