Congratulations on selling some chicks..I guess. ; )

I have a pair of Calls, and an overly friendly Magpie drake. They are all so sweet. But the Calls are soooooooo adorable and not to mention CUTE!!

ok maybe i'm a bit slow... what came back empty?

and for a hatching update, I have 1 silver grey cochin baby (my first since december, now that the roo's doing his job again) hatching as I type, with 4 more sg's 7 reds and 2 colored/red cross due over the next 4 days!

they're all a bit behind schedule, as I had a cool spell over part of a day, when the incubator got down to about 95... so

that nobody was badly damaged by it.

Karen you wrote : "but he says i can take all i want to the sale, if i come back empty LOL" About taking a slew off to a sale if you come back empty.

Who can come back empty from a sale???

I've thrown a couple marans eggs in the LG for testing. I can't see a blasted thing thru those dark shells. I seem to have two temps. 99 or 101. I'm sure if I think about it a little longer I can figure out a solution without touching the Knob.

I have one marans breeding pen set up. And one EE/Ameraucana pen. BO are next!!

LOL i can. unless they have bantam cochins, or dorkings. i'm being good and restricting my breeds. not colors within a breed tho. 8)

I need to revise what i said... i'm not restricting my BREEDING just my BREEDS... i'm still hatching just about every egg i get from the silly things.

well, at least attempting to.

1 of the 2 that were hatching yesterday quit. but i attribute that to low temps. it got down to about 95 for part of a day, couple days before lockdown, and i think a few just couldn't cope.

is that where you can't count eggs in the bator, or undr a broody. oh yeah can't count her either. or chicks in the brooder. hm... which ones DO you count? can't be the excess roosters, who will all be stew meat sooner or later, or anyone in the cull pen really. and the breeding pens don't count either, since we're not eating their eggs, do they?
so... if you count only hens laying eggs you can eat, i have... 2.

soon to be a few more i think, though. the EE's were checking out nest boxes today.

Ok...I've been lurking here and not posting, trying to be good. I shut the bator down in January and planned to start back in March. I made it til the middle of February!!!! I have been hatching my own layers and some silkies.
Then.....

I serously fell off the wagon, again! I ordered some RN Pheasants in addition to my own, and my sister started supplying me with Polish eggs. Total count to hatch was 34. ALL the chicken eggs hatched and 9/10 pheasant eggs hatched (and they were shipped!!!!) Best hatch ever

33/34. Everybody hatched yesterday!!!!

Now, here's the bad part...... yesterday i set 3 dozen of my own eggs, 3 Bronze Turkey eggs and 20 shipped Silkie eggs

Good thing I have a cabinet bator. Well, maybe not, because I always have room in the bator for more eggs. I just don't have coop space!!!!

So here I am, hoping you will once again be accepting of someone who has absolutly NO self control
