It's been awhile since I have been a part of this group..but I think I can officially be a part of it now! LOL
Currently I have 3 incubators running, a 1588 Genesis Hova-Bator that has some Lavender Muscovy eggs that didn't hatch still in it, then two GQF Sportsmans, and another one that should be here tonight! ; ) I have one full of mostly Guinea eggs, and then I have the other full of chicken eggs from my birds. Most everything I'm hatching out is to sell. Then I should be getting another Sportsman tonight, my mother is bringing it home for me. Then Saturday I should be getting around 14 dozen eggs in the mail, mostly Guineas. Then I am also getting two peafowl eggs tonight when my mother comes home, a lady friend of mine is giving me all the eggs I want for free! How awesome is that? Then next week I should be getting Sebastapol, Embden, and Pomeranian eggs, along with White Mallards, Runners, and Cascades. Phew!! Then next week I should have around 2 dozen BCM eggs coming from Wynette. I am hatching those out for my friend that is giving me all the peafowl eggs. Here is a list of what I'm incubating from my birds:
Bantam Lavender Ameraucanas
Bantam Lavender Cochins
LF Black Orpingtons,
LF Lemon Cuckoo Orpington splits
LF Coronation and Light Sussex
B/B/S and White Bantam Orpingtons
Olive Eggers
Then my broody Splash Cochin hen is setting on 5 eggs, 4 splash and one lav Cochin. Then I have a broody bantam out at the barn that is on a pile of eggs. I will probably sell all of her babies as I'm trying to stay away from mixed chicks at the moment. I seem to get overrun with them if I ever let a hen hatch out babies and keep them! LOL Then I'm missing a couple of females guineas so they are either eaten, or are setting on nests. Hopefully the latter.
Out of all the eggs I'm hatching I will probably only keep all the Black Orps, and maybe some of the Lemons. Everybody else is to be sold. I already have several people lined up, I usually don't have any trouble selling the babies as soon as they hatch. Then at some point I need to get some Turkey eggs, I have at least one person that I told I would hatch out some poults for. Me a Hatch-A-Holic? I don't know the meaning of the word!
