I thought I would post a picture of what I have added to my incuCube. I've been thinking alot about lockdown, not knowing for sure what the humidity is going to be with the small cups under the mesh wire is going to be with the cups filled. What I did is found a shallow bowl bigger around than the cups and put a sponge in it. I cut open the sponge on the top and pushed the one end of the aquarium hose down into the sponge and drilled a small hole at the bottom of the IncuCube and put the hose through it. I am going to put some hot glue around the hose where it goes through the bator but it's a pretty tight fit now. Now at lockdown I have the ability to add water to the sponge and bowl if needed to raise the humidity. What do you think? Do you think this will work okay?
Looks like it would work just fine! I would check the humidity with just the cups first and adjust from there. For more incubation egg pics, check out the sticky threads. It will give you a good idea what to look for.
Here is day 6 after I just got done candleing them. As you can see on the top of the eggs is you look closely is either OK or a ?. There was only one ?, all the others looked good. I will recandle on day 9 or 10 to double check the ? one, and see how the others are developing. Hope you are not getting tired of my photos and postings. I guess I'm just a little excited.
Yeah, I didn't think of the need to add water at lockdown. I have a hose to do that in my hovabator and the brinsea is automatic, you just set it to the desired humidity.
Glad there is some rays of success here.
Like I said, I'll be candling Sunday or perhaps even Monday. (10 days)
It seems to be holding the humidity well, I'm just worried that it's getting enough Oxygen in there.
This is becoming a learning experience for me.
I hope I'll be able to help the company make a better incubator in the future.
Thanks so much on the help for getting the battery I gave up had a meeting tonite I get it now...wow something so simple yep the directions need to be tweaked a bit so now I need to calibrate this thing maybe it will be ready to put eggs in tomorrow night I don't know....my Chinese one was easier even if it has a forbidden blowhole I love that I left the sticker on it
I just wanted everyone to see they are working on fixing the shipping problem and the other concerns this is the email I received today.
Dear BYC Incu-Cube Beta Test Participant -
Your order has not yet shipped. We have decided to hold your order due to the feedback we received about the turner motor breaking off during shipment and a few other concerns. We are actively pursuing a revision 2 of the IncuCube and Turner and would like to ship you the IncuCube Rev2 once completed. We anticipate that Rev2 will be ready in one week or less. We would love to have you stay involved in the Beta Test, but if you are not able to wait for Rev2, please let us know and we can refund your purchase.
I haven't heard anything from them yet, in regards to my email/post about improper shipping, and the egg turner arm breaking off. Still awaiting a reply personally.
I heard from them a little while ago.. They will be shipping out a new egg turner and the hydrometer/therometer when they are through reivising the turner etc.. Fine with me would rather be safe than sorry...
