I find walmart in Canada to carry a lot less than the US. Would the bottom of the drawer organizer baskets be too slippery for the chicks?

or if the bottoms were cut out so air flow could still happen and they wouldn't be on a slippery bottom?

Would it be a terrible idea to use cardboard as dividers? I can't find the plastic stuff aart used. I know air flow will be impacted some. I plan to make it only about 3 inches tall. Probably shouldnt....

Ahh.... maybe if you poked a lot of holes.
I'm kinda worried about the air flow...hard to really test it.
3 inches might not be tall enough, those little buggers can crawl.

Although it will cut the flow down a bit, it should not be detrimental to the hatch.

Mesh bags or plastic baskets turned upside down would probably be preferable. Cardboard 3 inches high could probably be jumped over by any active chicks. The plastic needlepoint sheets can be found at craft stores, if you have any popular ones in your area.

You can get this rubbery shelf paper stuff that is great for chicks to walk on. $1 a roll at Walmart.

If you are hatching guinea eggs in your Incuview, beware , mine started jumping out the sides the minute i took the top off after the first 24 hours ! I had quite a time getting them out from behind my dresser!
