Incuview Incubator

That is an excellent suggestion and we will plan to do just that. We are lucky to live relatively close to a hatchery where we can pick up eggs without having to have them shipped. We love chickens too, but hope to eventually have egg laying ducks to share since our granddaughter has a severe chicken egg allergy. We are going to order ducklings this Spring, but plan to try to hatch out a few Muscovy eggs since those are the duck eggs our local hatchery sells ... and we do love Muscovy ducks for company and entertainment on our farm. I also need to order poultry fencing to keep our local foxes and coyotes away from our future ducks and chickens.

Holy cow....1201 posts read in the matter of a night. But would be GREAT if IW had some great sale here so I could justify purchasing their incubator. I've been eying Bator for a while, and despite the issues people have/had with this one, it still appears to be better choice for a hobby chicken 'farmer'.

Guess I'll just monitor their website to see if they have anything special in the next month or so!

they have been posting sales on their FB page, but that was around black Friday

Hi, I am getting out of hatching.
I have two Sportsmans modified to hold
over 500 eggs each.
I did a lot of custom hatching for people
besides hatching over 300 guinea eggs for myself each year.
I did turkey, goose, muscovy, ducks,
peacocks, chicken and guinea.
I also had ostrich trays, but modified them for turkey..
I am thinking of selling everything.
I already sold my 8 Hova and Little Giants..
........jiminwisc......

Wausau, Wisconsin! That's where I pay my insurance every month UMR Cobra Administration! UGH It's so expensive! LOL - Anyway - back to the Sportsmans -- those obviously worked really well, huh? Where is the best place to buy them and what's a "good" price to buy them for you think?

Kenny,
I bought two of my sportsmans from Craig's List.
they were both like brand new.
they still are in very good shape.
I also have one here that I borrowed about 12 years ago..
the owner brings me eggs for hatching. that way he doesn't have all the hassle .
that one is probably 40 years old and still works great.
I have all the original trays with my two. plus I bought extra egg trays for both units so that I can increase the capacity from around 280 eggs to over 500 eggs each..
I have seen incubators at swaps, on Craig's List, and in our weekly shopper paper.
also watch and ask here on byc..
I think a used one might go as high as $300.oo..
I made automatic waterers for humidity for about $7.oo plus 2 plastic pails.
before I got the cabinet models, I had 8 hovabators going at one time.
If you know how to do it, they are good machines..Little Giants, too..
That's awesome! I should have done that. My r-Com was 300 basically. Should have just bought that and I wouldn't have had to buy anything else. Could incubate anything!
