Indian Fantail Interest

Pretty! Do they stay in those types of cages or do you let them out for exercise? I was thinking of keeping them in a pen similar to that one permanently but don't want to stress them.

mine are actually in a bigger loft was doing some separating the day i took the pic, i let mine out to fly with everyone else they don't do much flying but walk around and pick at the grass, just be outside with them in case of predators

the good thing about pigeons is once they are a mated pair you can let them in with all the other birds and they won't cross. I keep damacians indian fantails and american fantails all in the same loft. just seperate them until u catch them doing something lovey (ie beaking and preening each other mating or sitting on eggs) and them let them with the rest of the flock

Have to disagree, its a known fact, right after they kiss(male feeding the female before mating) another male may breed the female. I have seen this myself with racing homers.

It doesn't happen alot , but it does happen. Reason those raising those super high dollar homers(thousands of dollars) , single pair them.

Oh yes, it happens. I've had a pair of racers hatch out Indian Fantail/Homer mixes. The Indian Fantail cockbird that mated with the homer hen was paired up with one of his own already. But he's a very cocky little guy and will mate with anything that is ready.
Same thing happened in my old bird loft. Had a pair of racers hatch out one pure racer and one satinette/racer mix. He managed to get her between laying eggs.

I've only got ten pigeons rite now so I know each of there personality's. I don't think the one male would mate with any other hen ever cause he's %100 dedicated but I do have another male where I could see him 'mating around'. He's cocky.

will you have any of your indian fantails available for sale this year 2012 and do you ship at all ? thanks for your time misty
