Indiana 2010 Chickenstock-2011 NEWS!!

Chickycat, don't be feeling guilty--we all make mistakes, even with experience. I recently lost a peachick that I left in with his two guinea hatchmates too long. Nobody else hatched at the same time, so they became brooder mates. I knew that the guineas would grow faster than he at first but didn't count on their rambunctiousness and his slender neck. I found him with the neck broken. This wasn't ignorance--I knew better! I just waited too long because I didn't want him to be alone.

I'm glad that the injured chick is perking up and hope he continues to mend. On the plus side (for me!, I feel honored to meet such a sensitive, caring person, to say nothing of a fellow Reiki!

Thank you. I was also honored to meet a fellow Reiki healer. I am only a level two.
I had every intention of buying the other white and a black silkie chick from you, but with the drama, my husband just wanted to leave. I hope, since I only got two silkie chicks, that I end up with a pair. I'm curious, how old are the polish I got from you, and what type are they. I do not remember. I need to start writing things down.

Thank you Schultz's for throwing this awesome event! When we got home the first thing my dad asked- "Wheres the bantam hen I told you you could get? Or 2 of the call duck babies?"

One chick, the one that was running around for HOURS and then the one game hen that ran under the trailor and I guess I really didn't have much choice on that one!

I am hoping I can get atleast half as many people to show some birds in Open Class at the Marion County Fair! That would be so awesome for my first year of my friend and I running it. I tried to contact her about the 5-6 people I got at the CS but she never answered. I would start a thread but do you peeps think it's to soon? It's in July of next year lol.

Nope! You don't have to live in Marion to show in Open Class

Thats the good thing about it but for the 4-H Show you have to live in Marion.

AC, if I figure out what all I have to do to show, I'll try the fair next year. That's assuming that I have anything worth showing. Have some prospects that look pretty good right now, but would have to keep them in over the winter to make sure combs don't freeze!

Chickycat, they're gold-laced Polish. The eggs came from BYC member sutillman.

I might go ahead and start a thread for next years Marion County Fair.

Psssh! I don't have any good birds but I like to go there and see what the judges say on the bird. This isn't a really "high class show" were you have to stay out of the isle when he's judging. He likes to talk to the people about their birds and is open to questions. He will tell you what is good or what isn't good about your bird and he will give you the honest truth. A very nice judge.
